BMMRO Staff Update

Diane Claridge presented at a marine mammal stranding workshop in Fresh Creek, Andros on 3 August to an audience comprising members of Andros Conservancy and Trust (ANCAT), Autec, and the local Fisheries Officer. The workshop was an introduction to future workshops to be conducted in Nassau and involving other family islands in an effort to create a Bahamas Stranding Network.

Leigh Hickmott attended a 4 day D-Tag training session at the beginning of July in El Hierro, Canaries. The training was given by Mark Johnson of WHOI.

Charlotte Dunn attended the 3rd International Workshop on Detection and Classification of Marine Mammals using Passive Acoustics, from 24 - 26 July in Boston.

Olivia Patterson and Charlotte Dunn both sucessfully obtained their Masters Class B boat licence at the Port Authority in Marsh Harbour on 13 July.
